Project Data Analytics Community Newsletter
September 2019

One of the key aims of our community is to help to keep people plugged into the very latest developments across the industry. Through a combination of this newsletter, the vlog and community events we want to create a forum to inspire, upskill and encourage interaction amongst our members. The newsletter is developed using webscraping, so if you think there is anything we have missed then please let us know and we will refine our algorithms.

How to Improve the Accuracy of Project Schedules? The Effect of Project Specification and Historical Information on Duration Estimates

There is an interesting quote in this paper: “In an environment where subjects estimate how long it will take them to complete a simple real-effort task, the authors show that over two thirds of subjects would be better off in terms of estimation accuracy if the historical average was used for estimation purposes instead of their own estimate”. Worth a speed read. Read more …
