Data Analytics and Reporting on the UK’s Biggest Road Construction Project
The London Project Data and Analytics meetup are delighted to host a talk that will inspire and help to push the boundaries on project data analytics.
We are pleased to welcome Mark Tootell and Jon Kirby. They lead data analytics and reporting on the UK’s biggest road construction project, the A14 improvement.
At £1.5bn its a major project in its own right, but it also has the added complexity of having multiple delivery partners (Balfour Beatty, Costain, Skanska, Plus designers, CH2M and Akins). Within this talk Mark and Jon will be walking us through how they developed the project analytics and reporting from scratch, providing insights into how they tackled the challenge and some of the obstacles on route. They will be sharing some of report templates and shining a light on how advanced reporting and analytics is helping to shape construction.
They will also be providing a vision for a pipeline of future improvements and will be reaching out to our community for ideas on potential improvements, cross fertilising experience from other sectors.
Jon Kirby: Jon has an MSc in Computer Science and is responsible for data strategy, Azure data warehousing and Power BI, including DAX.
Mark Tootell: Mark is a Civil Engineer with an MSc in Information Technology. He has over 20 years experience in construction and works for Costain, with lead responsibility for the Integrated Management Office.
It promises to be a great evening.
